Premadeepotsava

In one of the quarterly meetings of COSS, some members expressed their wish of conducting bhajans in the villages on every full moon day taking students and Karyakarthas from Sathya Sai Grama to promote interest and desire in the villagers to learn the art of prayer and singing Bhajans. In addition to it the members of COSS also mentioned to bring awareness regarding health and hygiene among the rural mass. Then Rev. Murthy Anna suggested to take the children to the villages for Grama-Seva and conduct Bhajan sessions on every full moon days. This program was called Premadeepotsava. Now we have celebrated the Premadeepotsava festival in two villages.

The program consisted of cleaning the roads, cleaning the temple & school premises and flushing the drainages. The response of the villagers was very good and more than 10-12 students of the villages themselves participated in the program. The senior members of the villages experienced a guilt feeling for not guiding their children in such activities and hence we can infer some amount of awakening has occurred in them.
