Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vikas Scheme

In order to improve the academic standard of the students of the primary schools in the eight adopted villages, special coaching classes are conducted from 6pm to 8pm. Educated persons in the village, who are capable of giving guidance to the students have been chosen as teachers for this purpose. These classes begin with Bhajans and a brief talk on Human Values every day. These teachers are paid Rupees One Thousand each as an honorarium every month. At the end of the year, an examination is conducted to asses the progress achieved by the students and three students who secure high marks in each of the villages are given attractive prices on the occasion of Annual Get Together of COSS. The teacher in charge of village that secures the highest number of ranks is awarded a cash prize of Rupees 1,000/- as an incentive. The approximate expenditure per year: Rupees 1.10 Lakh.

Special Coaching for Day Scholars in Sathya Sai Grama

There are about 50 local students (day scholars) studying in Sri Sathya Sai Higher Primary School, Sathya Sai Grama. Most of them are academically very backward. So a teacher has been specially appointed by COSS to give coaching to these students and raise their education standards. These coaching classes are held every day in the evening after class hours.
